iPhone Frozen? How To Soft / Hard Reset iPhone 4, 4s, 5, 5s, 6, 6s, 7 Plus

During the course of operating your iPhone, did it suddenly froze? Did it suddenly become unresponsive and isn’t responding to your touch? iPhone frozen on lock screen? It won’t turn on? This post will teach you how to soft or hard reset the phone in other to fix it.

Earlier today, I experienced something quite unusual on my phone. When I say quite unusual, I mean it’s never happened before.

I was sorta devastated (a little though). My iPhone totally became unresponsive. Consistently pressing the power button could turn on the screen light but I could perform next to nothing. It felt like it was frozen.

Although I could swipe the phone screen from the top downwards to access the notification tray and could swipe the phone from the bottom upwards to access other menus, I couldn’t access any apps. I also couldn’t even swipe the screen from the left to right and vice versa.

Although calls could still come through, I couldn’t answer the call as a result of the touch being unresponsive. Being able to access the notification tray and the quick control panel was pretty much everything the phone could do. Which frankly, was pretty annoying.

As awkward as it may sound, at some point, I had to consistently hit the phone on the floor (what’s d worst that could happen? It isn’t really functional after-all). That still didn’t fix it. Since the phone’s screen wasn’t bad, I knew there would always be a solution.

iPhone Frozen, What’s the fix?

I had to start trying different button combinations (for phones with non-removable battery, button combination or a reset point is the sure bet).

If for any reason, your iPhone smartphone becomes unresponsive and you are very sure the screen isn’t bad nor the device has any fault, soft resetting the phone could be the best solution.

When reset is complete, everything should be working fine and No, you won’t loose any of your files or data.

How To Hard Reset An iPhone

This process will wipe everything on the device leaving only the pre-installed apps and data.

To hard reset, go to settings > General > Reset. Choose from any of the reset options that suits your description and follow the onscreen instructions.

Please note: The hard reset option is more advanced. In most cases, the soft reset should fix it. If however, that doesn’t work, that’s only when you should try hard reset.

In summary, the iPhone has been working very well ever since i soft reset the phone. You should apply same tactics if at any point, you experience same on your iPhone as a result of iPhone frozen or unresponsive to touch.
